Terms of Use
Last Updated: October 18, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to the RheumCompanion mobile application (the "App") and the website www.rheumcompanion.com. RheumCompanion is published by Wickersham Development Group, LLC ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App or the website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
1. Not medical advice
RheumCompanion is an educational and personal health record tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment recommendations. Always consult your rheumatologist or another qualified health provider about your care. Never delay seeking medical advice because of something you read in the App. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your doctor or emergency services right away.
2. AI-generated answers
RheumBot answers and drug interaction explanations are generated by artificial intelligence. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, even when sources are shown. Treat them as a starting point for a conversation with your care team, not as a decision. Check the cited sources, and do not start, stop or change a medication based on the App alone.
3. Who can use the App
The App is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use it.
4. Subscriptions and free trial
- The App is free to download. Some features require a subscription, which costs $6.99 a month in the United States, or the price shown in your store. Eligible new subscribers start with a 7-day free trial.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you subscribe, or when your free trial ends unless you cancel before then.
- Your subscription renews automatically each month unless you cancel it before the end of the current period. You can cancel at any time in the subscription settings of the App Store or Google Play. Cancelling stops future renewals, and your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Payments, refunds and price-change notices are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms. We cannot issue refunds directly.
5. Your data and your device
Your record is stored on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not keep a copy. You are responsible for your device's security and for making your own backups with the App's export features. If you delete the App or its data, your record cannot be recovered by us.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use the App and website only for personal, lawful purposes. You agree not to copy, resell or redistribute the App or its content; not to reverse engineer it except where the law allows; and not to misuse its online features, for example by sending automated or excessive requests to RheumBot or trying to get around the App's limits.
7. Ownership
The App, the website and their content are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the App on devices you own or control while these Terms are in effect. Information drawn from public sources, such as FDA drug labels, PubMed and ClinicalTrials.gov, remains subject to the terms of those sources.
8. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services, including Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Cloudflare and U.S. government databases. The website links to the App Store, Google Play, Amazon and other sites. Those services and sites have their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, the App and the website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the App or the website. Our total liability for any claim relating to them is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Apple and Google
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. If you downloaded the App from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where it conflicts with these Terms, Apple's agreement controls for the iOS App. If you downloaded the App from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to your purchase.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
